- , Improved: Choose who you send to right in the send card
A "Send to" row at the top of the send card now shows your paired devices as chips, each with a button to disconnect, plus an "Add device" chip. Devices on your network that are not paired yet appear as dashed chips you can tap to pair. The separate list of device cards below the page is gone, and the header shows how many devices are paired on phones too.
- , Improved: Clearer connection status, and links that come back
A paired device now shows Connecting until the direct link is really open, and if it takes too long or cannot open, Nearsend says so and what to try instead of dropping the device without a word. When a phone returns from the file picker or another app and the link was lost, it is set up again automatically. Two more public STUN servers that work from mainland China were added for finding a route between devices.
- , New: Private rooms
Start a room from the Pair window and share its code, link or QR code. Up to 5 devices can join, and every device in the room is connected to every other one, so anyone can send to anyone. By default the host approves each person who asks to join, and can remove someone or close the room at any time.
- , Improved: Connections come back after a page reload
Reloading the page used to end the link to your other device and you had to pair again. A reloaded device now sets the link up again by itself, with no new PIN or QR code, and a room you were in comes back too. Disconnecting on purpose still ends the link for good.

A new Security page explains how transfers are protected, what the server can and cannot see, and what is not covered, and says how to report a vulnerability. The contact details are also published in a security.txt file.
- , Improved: Clearer messages when a direct connection is blocked
Nearsend connects your devices directly and does not send transfers through a relay. If a network or a browser setting such as Brave Shields blocks the direct path, the transfer does not start and Nearsend now says why and what to try, instead of leaving you waiting.
- , New: Send to several devices at once
When more than one device is paired, tick the ones you want in the send window and send the same files to all of them. Each device is asked separately, whoever accepts first starts receiving first, and one device declining does not stop the others.
- , Improved: A tidier footer and a sliding theme change
The footer is now four short columns, and on phones it shows only the Resources list with the rest folded away. Switching between light and dark now slides the new theme across the page.
- , New: Nearsend in 17 more languages
The home page and the pairing, transfer and settings windows are now available in Swedish, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Turkish, Indonesian, Korean, Italian, Polish, Dutch, Hindi, Vietnamese and Arabic, with Arabic laid out right to left. Each language has its own address, such as /ja, and the guides, blog and legal pages stay in English.
- , Improved: Security update: stronger protection around pairing
Other devices on a different network no longer appear in your Nearby list, and your browser details are no longer shared with them. Repeated wrong PIN attempts are now throttled per connection, pairing PINs, tokens and phrases come from a cryptographic random generator, and the server now caps message sizes and device name lengths. Files still go directly between your devices and are never stored on a server.

A new blog covering how the underlying technology works, practical troubleshooting, privacy and security topics, and real use cases, with an RSS feed at /blog/rss.xml for anyone who wants to follow along without checking back manually.

Trimmed the JavaScript the app needs before it becomes interactive by loading a few rarely-used pieces, the confetti animation, QR code generation, and QR scanning, only when they’re actually used instead of on every visit.

Added HSTS, a strict Content-Security-Policy, and related headers to harden the site against common web attacks like content-type sniffing and clickjacking.
- , New: Folder transfers now show one clear approval, not one per file
Sending a folder used to prompt the recipient once per file inside it. It now shows a single folder summary with one Accept/Decline choice, a combined progress bar with a file count, and, if a handful of items fail partway through, a "Retry Failed Files" option instead of restarting the whole transfer.
- , Fixed: Fixed a mobile layout overflow
A wide table on the AirDrop and landing pages could push the whole page sideways on narrow phone screens. Fixed across all tabs.
- , Improved: More reliable pairing and connections
Fixed pairing occasionally failing when the signaling server ran across multiple instances, tightened which origins the WebSocket connection accepts, and added a TURN relay fallback so connections still succeed on stricter networks and corporate Wi-Fi.

Direct, encrypted, browser-to-browser file transfer; no app to install, no account, and nothing stored on a server. Pair two devices with a QR code, a 6-digit PIN, or a spoken phrase, then send files, folders, text, or clipboard content straight between them.
